What is news?

News is information based on present day events which can be displayed to the public in many different ways, such as by broadcast, internet, TV etc. The information we receive can come from all around the world, not just from certain locations. News educates the public about particular issues, which could encourage them to voice their opinions (depending on what the topic is). News is not only about politics, but also addresses other issues such as film release, celebrity gossip etc.

What is local news?

Local news is about events, which are told from a specific region. This particular news will not be of interest to those who do not live in this area or so. For example, events that happen around East London will only interest residents of that area. However people who live in e.g. South London, will not care about what is happening in East London, as it does not apply to them.
